What is it that Classical music intelligent?

This isn't a sarcastic question. I'm actually looking for what makes
Classical music so intelligent and thought provoking. It's
structurally sound... but why? The structure of the chords or the
arrangement of the instruments? Harmony... melody...? Technical skill?

I'm not really sure if this question really can be answered. It may be
too broad of a subject. Perhaps if you can just give an example of a
particular piece? I really would appreciate if you did give an example
of a certain piece of music and what makes it so great in your
opinion.
*makes

I typo-ed the question. I meant: "What is it that *makes* Classical
music intelligent?"
